Wolfram Kuschke

Tungsten Ehrhardt Kuschke ( born April 9, 1950 in Menden ) is a German politician of the SPD. He was 1998-2002 President of the Government of the district of Arnsberg and 2002-2004 Minister with responsibility to the Prime Minister and 2004-2005 Minister for Federal, European Affairs and the Media of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Life

Kuschke studied modern history and Middle and political science at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster. From 1977 to 1978 Kuschke worked as a freelancer in adult education and from 1979 to 1981, Pedagogical staff in Bielefeld. From 1981 to 1983 he was employed as a research assistant at the Ruhr- University Bochum, where joined from 1983 to 1985 to work as a lecturer.

Wolfram Kuschke is a member of the SPD since 1972. From 1985 to 1993 Kuschke served as deputy chairman of the SPD sub-district of Unna, and from 1990 to 1996 as a member of the SPD District Executive Western Westphalia. Since 1992 he has been Chairman of the SPD - City Association Lunen and since 1996 a member of the SPD National Executive.

Kuschke was first elected in 1985 for the SPD in the state parliament of North Rhine -Westphalia. There he took over in 1987 the Commission's "Man and Technology" chair. From 1990 to 1998 Kuschke worked as social policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.

1998 Wolfram Kuschke was appointed President of the Government of the district of Arnsberg. On 12 November 2002 he was appointed as Minister with responsibility to the Prime Minister and Head of the State in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Peer Steinbrück. On 15 October 2004 Kuschke joined the department and served henceforth as Minister for Federal, European affairs and media as well as a representative of the Land North Rhine -Westphalia to the Federal Government. From this position different Kuschke due to the '90 of the SPD and Greens lost state elections in June 2005. Since then Kuschke perceived their new-found seat in Parliament, which he had received in the said state election by direct election with 43.5 % of the vote in the constituency 115 ( Unna I) and successfully defended in 2010. From September 2010 he was chairman of the main and Media Committee of Parliament. To early elections in 2012 Kuschke did not start and was eliminated as a result of of the NRW state parliament.

Wolfram Kuschke is patron of the Festival Balver cave. He is state chairman of the European Union, North Rhine-Westphalia and member of the Foundation Board of the Europe House Marienberg.
