Geographical location

The wolf's head rises in the Upper Harz Harz nature park about 2.3 kilometers east of Kamschlacken a northeastern district of Osterode am Harz, and about 5 km south-southwest of the city Altenau. It lies between the Ifenkopf in the north-north- east, the ridge on the field to the east, southeast and south, the Allerberg in the Southwest and the Great Central Mountain to the northwest. North past the wooded wolf head flows about in an east-west direction with the Great Söse the left of the source stream Rhume influx Söse.

Wolf cliffs

On the southwestern flank of the wolf head is the rock formation cliffs Wolf, measuring a little over 60 meters (about 580-640 m above sea level. NN ) and extends to about 350 m in length and is designated as a natural monument.
