The straw doll ( Original title: Woman of Straw ) is a British crime film from 1964, directed by Basil Dearden with Gina Lollobrigida and Sean Connery in the lead roles. The plot is based on the novel La Femme de paille by Catherine Arley.
Action
The young man about Anthony Richmond tries to get to the legacy of his wealthy, reliant on a wheelchair uncle Charles Richmond with the help of nurse Mary. This had driven to suicide once Anthony's father.
Anthony's plan provides that Maria Charles Richmond to marry and after it has died, inherits his fortune. One million pounds would then be the profit for Anthony.
