Workers' Party (Algeria)

The Workers' Party ( Parti des Travailleurs French, Arabic حزب العمال Hizb al - Ummal, abbreviation PT) is a Trotskyist political party in Algeria. It is closely linked with the Labour Party of France. The Labour Party is led by Louisa Hanoune. The party was founded in 1990 advocates for the protection and promotion of trade union movements in Algeria.

Your general secretary Louisa Hanoune was in the presidential election of 2004, the first woman in the Arab world, which took for president as a candidate - but she received only 3.3 % of the vote. In the parliamentary elections of 2007, the Labour Party was the main opposition party to the Part Three coalition of the FLN, the National Democratic Rally Party and society movement for peace. However, they won only 5.08% of the vote and 26 of 389 seats in the National People's Assembly.
