World Taekwondo Championships
The WTF World Taekwondo Championships are by the World Taekwondo Federation ( WTF ) discharged international championships in taekwondo. You can find since 1973, the year of the founding of the WTF, every two years instead. Since the origins of Taekwondo located in Korea and also the WTF was founded there, the first world championship was held in Seoul. South Korea is also by far the most successful team at the recent World Championships.
By 1985, only competitions for men were held, since 1987, women are fighting for medals. Competitions in the following weight classes today at the World Championships held:
In addition to the competition Taekwondo (full contact), there are still forming taekwondo ( Hyeong ), for which the International Taekwon- Do Federation ( ITF) discharges since 2006 world championships.
