Worpławki

Worpławki ( German Worplack ) is a village in Poland in the Warmia - Mazury. It is located in the municipality Reszel ( Rößel ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg ).

Geographical Location

Worpławki is located in north-eastern Poland, approximately 30 kilometers south of the border with the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast. Neighbouring localities within two to four kilometers in the northeast Babieniec ( Babziens ), in the northwest Gudniki ( Gudnick ) and in the south Reszel ( Rößel ).

History

Today's Worpławki was created in 1341 in the field of Prussian settlement Warpelauke. The name had a long time as a label. In the 18th century the name to Worplak and in the following century moved to Worplack. 1783 twelve houses were established here in 1817 there were eight in which 88 people lived. On December 1, 1910 124 inhabitants were counted in Gutsbezirk Worplack. At the end of the Second World War, the area was occupied in 1945 by the Red Army. As a result of the war the village as Worpławki part of Poland was. Since 1973 Worpławki belongs to the municipality Reszel.

Traffic

By Worpławki performs a side street. This ends west of the village about 1.5 kilometers to the confluence with the Province Road 590 ( droga wojewódzka nr 590). In the north-east side road leads through Babieniec and Tołkiny ( Tolksdorf ), then joins after about six kilometers in the Province Road 592.

The nearest railway station is at Tołkiny where there are direct connections to Olsztyn ( Olsztyn ) and Elk ( Lyck ).

The geographically nearest international airport is Kaliningrad, which is about 100 kilometers northwest located on Russian territory. The nearest international airport on Polish territory is located about 180 kilometers west of Lech Walesa Airport, Gdansk.
