WWE SmackDown
WWE Smackdown (or WWE Friday Night Smackdown ) is an American wrestling show produced by WWE. The show is broadcast weekly on Friday nights at Syfy. In Germany Smackdown is transferred completely and Fridays in HDTV with Sky Germany and Saturdays until March 2013 in an abridged version on Sport 1 Sport 1 and HD.
History
Smackdown was originally created by the then World Wrestling Federation as a counterweight to the Thursday show and broadcast the competition, WCW Thunder in 1999. They quickly became a success. To retract better odds, the then radiating U.S. UPN Smackdown shifted from 9 September 2005 to Friday night in the United States. Since this shift was successful, Smackdown kept the transmission place on Friday night, as the show in the United States changed the TV channel.
As a B -show WWE Velocity was introduced on 25 May 2002. In the first year the events of SmackDown were first summarized. As of 2003, there were on the superstars on Smackdown less used. On June 11, 2006 Velocity was set.
