Wysoki Garb

Wysoki Garb ( German Auxkallen ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community Dubeninki ( Dubeningken ) in Gołdapski powiat ( county Goldap ).

Geographical location

Wysoki Garb located 25 kilometers east of the county town Gołdap and nine kilometers east of the central community place Dubeninki the south of the province road 651 The village was only 300 meters to the former border between Germany and Poland, which here today the border between the provinces of Warmia Masurian and Podlasie corresponds.

History

The first documented in 1597 and then called Augstlaucken village existed before 1945 only from a few small farms. Between 1874 and 1945 (as of June 3, 1938: Bergerode ) belonged Auxkallen to the Official District Loyen ( from 1939 District " Loien ", Polish today: Loje ) in a circle Goldap in the district Gumbinnen (now Russian: Gusev ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia.

Following the Second World War, the village called since 1939 Bergerode became part of Poland and is now a village within the Gmina Dubeninki in powiat Gołdapski the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship ( 1975-1998 Voivodeship Suwałki ( Suwalki ) ).

Church

Was Auxkallen and Wysoki Garb is not Kirchdorf. The population was - and is - the parish after Dubeningken ( Dubeninki ). Until 1945 here lived a predominantly Protestant population. The parish church in Dubeningken (1938-1945: Dubeningen ) belonged to the church district Goldap in the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Church of the Old Prussian Union. The Catholic church members visited since 1894 the Catholic Church in Goldap.

The reference by Gołdap exists today for the Protestant inhabitants, who are against the Catholics in the minority. Traffic
