Xiaomi

Xiaomi Tech (Chinese小米 科技, Pinyin Xiǎomĭ Keji ) is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer in China leader was founded in 2010 by Lei Jun and already in December 2013. Xiaomi Tech moved for the first time in the view point of the mobile industry, as the smartphone is Xiaomi M1, a low-priced high-end device, introduced to the public. Xiaomi Tech has also developed MIUI, an alternative firmware for smartphones based on Android.

Description

Xiaomi Corporation, founded in April 2010, is a smartphone manufacturer, which focuses on affordable high-end smartphones and the development of MIUI. The core of the company consists of the MiPhones, the MIUI Android firmware and Miliao.

Xiaomi is led by co-founder Lei Jun, who is also the main investor. Other founders of Xiaomi belonged Lin Bin, Li Wanqiang, Zhou Guangping, Huang Jiangji, Liu De and Hong Feng, Besides the founder and vice president of Xiaomi.

In the first half of 2012 Xiaomi Tech scored about 810 million euros.

Caused a sensation in the company, as the vice president of Google Android Huggo Barra in August 2013 announced his move to Xiaomi. He will be responsible for the international development and strategic partnerships within the company.

Xiaomi Mi -1

The Xiaomi Mi- 1 is the first Xiaomi smartphone equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual core processor from Qualcomm ( Snapdragon S3), the Adreno 220 graphics processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of memory, touch screen with 4.3 inches diagonal and 480 x 854 px resolution and an 8 MP camera. It runs at delivery with MIUI based on Android 2.3.

Xiaomi Mi -1 Youth Edition

This is a slightly cheaper version of the Mi -1 with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and only 768 MB of RAM.

Xiaomi Mi -1S

It's a slightly more expensive version of the Mi- 1 with a 1.7 GHz processor and an additional front camera with 2 MP.

Xiaomi Mi-2

The Xiaomi Mi-2 is equipped with a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor from Qualcomm ( Snapdragon S4 Pro type APQ8064 ), the Adreno 320 graphics processor, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of data storage, an IPS display with 4.3 inches diagonal and 1280 × 720px resolution, an 8 MP camera and a 2 MP front camera fitted. It runs at delivery with MIUI based on Android 4.1.

Xiaomi Mi- 2S

The Xiaomi Mi- 2S is a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor from Qualcomm ( Snapdragon 600 Type APQ8064T ) and equipped in the 32 GB version with a 13 MP main camera. In the 16 GB version, it remains a 8 MP camera of the Mi -2. The rest of the equipment corresponds to the Mi -2. Coinciding with the Mi- 2S Generation 5 of the MIUI operating system was introduced, which is still based on Android 4.1.1 and primarily contains user interface customizations.

Xiaomi Mi -2A

Xiaomi Mi -3

The Xiaomi Mi -3 is the latest smartphone from the company. It has a 5 -inch IPS display with 1080p resolution and an "ultra sensitive" touchscreen, which also eg can be operated with gloves. It is offered with two quad-core processors - a 1.8 GHz Nvidia Tegra 4 and a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon Qualcomm 800. The former is available only for China Mobile customers. It is offered a version with 16 and 64 GB internal memory. The main camera with an Exmor sensor of the Sony RS has a 13 MP resolution, the front camera of 2 MP. It has 2 GB of RAM, and NFC. The battery has 3050 mAh. The smartphone is only available in Asia. Whether it comes to Europe is currently still unclear.

License violations

Since Xiaomi does not provide source code for the Linux kernel used in the products, the manufacturer violates the license terms of the Linux kernel (GPL). There is a petition calling for the release of the source code for the kernel and some parts of MIUI firmware. According to an announcement in September 2013 Xiaomi will release the source code of the kernel of its Mi- smartphones. A date for this is not clear.
