Xu Shousheng

Xu Shousheng (Chinese徐守盛; * 1953 in Rudong, Jiangsu Province) is a politician in the People's Republic of China.

Xu joined in 1973 the Communist Party of China and his PhD at the party school. He worked in his home province in different political-administrative functions. Recently 1992-1996 as mayor of Lianyungang and 1996-2001 as party secretary of Suqian.

In 2001 he moved to the province of Gansu, where he became vice-governor in 2003. From 2008 to 2010 he was governor of the province. His successor Liu Weiping was ordered.

In 2010 he was appointed as successor to Zhou Qiang, who became the party secretary of the province, Governor of Hunan Province.

He was a delegate of the 15th Party Congress in 1997. Subsequently, Xu was from 2002 and is a candidate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China since 2007.
