Yaakov Rubinstein

Ya'akov Rubinstein (Hebrew יעקב רובינשטיין ) is an Israeli violinist. He has performed since the age of seven in Europe, Israel, Japan, China and America.

Musical training

As a student of the Jerusalem Music Center, he received, among others, by Isaac Stern and Yehudi Menuhin lessons. After lessons in the violin teacher Ilona Feher, he studied in Frankfurt am Main at Edith Peinemann and added subsequently at the Manhattan School of Music with Glenn Dicterow, the concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic. In addition to several awards and prizes he received scholarships from the Chautauqua Music Festival, the Manhattan School of Music and the American Cultural Foundation.

Concerts

He performed as a soloist with various ensembles, including, inter alia with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Electoral Palatinate Chamber Orchestra, Mannheim, the Chursächsische Philharmonic, the Philharmonic State Orchestra Hall, the Youth Orchestra of the Regio Basel, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Holon Chamber Orchestra, Ashdod Chamber Orchestra, Haifa Symphony Orchestra and the Leningrad Chamber Orchestra. He played recitals in Israel, Brazil, France, Denmark, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and the USA.

From 1995 to the end of 2009 Ya'akov Rubinstein worked as first concertmaster of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. In addition to this, he is very committed to Jewish music and the care of historic performance practice.

In recent years, Ya'akov Rubinstein was heard as a guest at BR Munich, WDR Köln, NDR Hannover, Madrid, Oslo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Japan, Israel and Brazil. In addition to these commitments Ya'akov Rubinstein also worked as a director of various ensemble.
