Yahoo Widget Engine (own spelling Yahoo! widget engine), formerly known as Konfabulator is a JavaScript runtime environment for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X, which is distributed by Yahoo as freeware. Using this tool you can view different mini-programs (widgets ) on the desktop, such as the current weather or news. After buying up Yahoo Konfabulator In July 2005, the versions of Konfabulator from there came to out under the name of Yahoo Widget Engine. Nevertheless, this is still available as freeware program.

Since version 4.5, Flash animations can be integrated.

Since the release of version 4.5.2 in 2007 there was no further development of the software. With restrictions but it is usable with Microsoft Windows 7. The future of the project is unclear.

The download offer and support the desktop version have been set on 11 April 2012.
