Yannis Christopoulos

Yannis Christopoulos (Greek Γιάννης Χρηστόπουλος; born June 7, 1974 in Patras ) is a Greek basketball coach.

At the age of 22 years Christopoulos began in 1996 his coaching career in the youth department of the Romanian Association CS Universitatea Mobi Telco Cluj- Napoca, before assistant coach at League Apollon Patras was in his hometown, where he worked in the 1999/2000 season under head coach Dirk Bauer Man had. Also among peasant worked Christopoulos 2000/ 01 for the first time in Germany, as assistant coach at Brandt Hagen.

His career as a head coach started Christopoulos 2004 to Cyprus before 2005, he was head coach at his former employer Apollon Patras. By 2008, Engagements followed in other Greek first division, then Christopoulos returned to Cyprus, where he for the second time head coach of the basketball department of APOEL Nicosia was after 2004 /05. With APOEL he won in 2010 the Cypriot basketball championship.

Since 2011 Yannis Christopoulos has been working in Germany again, where he assistant coach Dirk Bauer man at Bayern Munich was first. After Bauermanns leave of absence on 27 September 2012, he was promoted to the new head coach. Christopoulos was originally supposed to look after the team until the end of the season, but was replaced on November 27, 2012 by Svetislav Pešić because the expectations were not met.
