Yaphet Kotto

Yaphet Frederick Kotto (* November 15, 1937 in New York City ) is an American actor.

Life and work

The father of Yaphet Kotto was from Cameroon. It is known Kotto, since he let in the James Bond film Live and Let Die (1973 ) alongside Roger Moore and Jane Seymour played a starring role. He has appeared in the television series Roots ( 1977). In the movie Alien - The sinister creature from another world (1979 ), he starred opposite Sigourney Weaver and Tom Skerritt, in Brubaker (1980 ) opposite Robert Redford in the film Stolen Hearts (1996 ) opposite Sandra Bullock.

In the years 1993-1999 Kotto was seen in a supporting role in more than 100 episodes of the crime series Homicide. During this time he was nominated four times for the Image Award. In 1977 he was nominated for his role in ... who have no mercy for the Emmy.

Kotto is married to third wife, Tessie Sinahon since 1998. He has five children from previous marriages.

His German dubbing voice comes from Helmut Krauss.
