Yasuhide Ito
Yasuhide Itō (Japanese伊藤 康 英, Itō Yasuhide; born December 7, 1960 in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture) is a Japanese composer, conductor and pianist.
Biography
In 1979 he began his studies, which he completed at the Tōkyō Daigaku Geijutsu (English Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) and graduated there in 1986. He receives high honors for his piano lectures ( Shizuoka Music Competition ) and for his compositional works ( Japan Music Competition). As a composer he is known far beyond the borders of Japan, in particular, with around 60 works for band. His Gloriosa can be found in the programs of brass bands all over the world, and just as much a success apparently his orchestral work Festal Scenes granted.
2001 was his first opera, Mr. Cinderella in Premiere. In addition to his work as a composer, he is also very well known as a pianist and can on successful joint appearances with Trevor Wye, William Bennett, Steven Mead, Brian Bowman, Miura Toru and Sugawa Nobuya point.
He is also conductor of the Tsukuba University Band.
He is a lecturer at Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music and at the Music College Senzoku, the Sakuyo Music College and the Tokyo Conservatoire Shobi.
