Yeasayer [ ˌ jeɪ seɪəɹ ] are a company founded in 2006 experimental American rock band from Brooklyn, New York. They describe their music as "Middle -Eastern - psych- pop- snap- gospel ".

Development
Singer Chris Keating and Anand Wilder guitarist come from Baltimore, where they were making music together before their college years. After both were a few years later moved to New York, they founded in early 2006 along with Wilder's cousin, Ira Wolf Tuton and the boarded in May 2006 drummer Luke Fasano, the band Yeasayer. Soon after the band was first songs such as 2080 were distributed on the Internet via Myspace.
Getting more attention caught the band in the U.S. in March 2007 by their appearance at SXSW.
The debut album All Hour Cymbals was released on 23 October 2007 in the United States and on 16 November 2007 in Europe on the specially founded label We Are Free.

Style
Yeasayer mix music from different cultures. So, in their songs, African tribal chants and other folklore bonds. Compared they are with Talk Talk, David Byrne and the Talking Heads. They call themselves Leonard Cohen, Phil Collins, Cyndi Lauper and Prince as influences.
Instruments
Yeasayer occur in the classic rock band line-up vocals / keyboards, guitar, bass and drums. In their own words they compose their music on the computer. The album All Hour Cymbals on to be heard choirs will be contributed by the New York band Suckers.
