Yelena Skrynnik

Jelena Borisovna Skrynnik (Russian: Елена Борисовна Скрынник; born August 30, 1961 in Korkino ) is a Russian entrepreneur and politician. Between March 2009 and May 2012 was Minister of Agriculture in the Government of the Russian Federation.

Jelena Skrynnik studied in Chelyabinsk medicine and economics. In 1992 she graduated from the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation with a degree in management skills. She holds a medical doctorate and a doctorate in economics.

In 1994, she founded the company Medleasing, a leasing company for medical technology. Since 2002, she was Director General of the Rosagroleasing, a company which provides agricultural producers on a leasing basis with technology and breeding cattle.

On 12 March 2009 she was appointed as successor to Alexei Gordeev the Russian Minister of Agriculture. The new government under Dmitry Medvedev it no longer belongs to. Her successor was Nikolai Fyodorov. Skrynnik 2008 Board member of the ruling party, United Russia since November.
