Yesterday Started Tomorrow is the third album by the American punk band Angry Samoans. With six titles and twelve minutes of playing time it reaches only the extent of EP. It was published in 1986 on Triple X Records and marked a turning point in the band, who had previously played aggressive, provocative and characterized by quirky humor and punk with this album hinted significant alternative influences.

Yesterday Started Tomorrow was recorded in just two days on 12 and 13 April 1986 in Penguin Studios in Glendale, California. According to Gregg Turner, the album was a return to the original virtues of the band are sounding more in the end for music of the 1960s, as had been originally planned. Turner argues further that the production of the album suffered under a severe time pressure because of an imminent tour a new phonograms should be pressed onto the market.

Reception

Allmusic criticized the fact that the band away from a " hate - driven, agonizing " have moved Hardcore and towards a " third-rate, lousy alternative rock sound." Mark Jenkins from the Chicago Reader, the EP was backward looking and "surprisingly mild " and drew comparisons with Count Five and the 13th Floor Elevators.
