Yisrael Beiteinu

Jisra'el Beiteinu ( spelling also: Israel Beiteinu; Hebrew ישראל ביתנו; Russian Наш дом - Израиль / Nash dom - Israil; German: " Israel Our Home " ) is an Israeli party. It is marked secular- nationalist and refers to the ideas Zeev Jabotinsky ( Revisionist Zionism ). It was founded in 1999 by Avigdor Lieberman, a born in the USSR immigrants. It sees itself as the party of scoring more than one million Russian and Eastern European immigrants. Compared with the Israeli Arabs she drives a hard line: Your campaign slogan of 2009 was "Without loyalty no citizenship ".

Joining the party alliance "National Union "

Of 2000, Jisra'el Beiteinu the National Union, a group of three right-wing nationalist parties. In the 2003 election, this coalition came together to, in the 2006 election Jisra'el Beiteinu alone. She counted thus of greater opportunities. Officially, however Jisra'el Beiteinu is still a part of the National Union. In some German media such as the news or the Focus the party is also considered as ultra right standing.

The election for the 17th Knesset

Avigdor Lieberman polarized before the election, with views over a deportation of Arab Israelis.

In the Israeli parliamentary elections (Knesset ) of 28 March 2006, the party came to 281 762 votes ( 11 seats ) and nearly became stronger than the Likud, who was with 281 937 votes (12 seats) wafer-thin still just fourth strongest party. Nevertheless, the massive votes of Jisra'el Beiteinu are perceived as the surprise of the election. It has been speculated that the seat gains of Jisra'el Beiteinu to the lack of charisma of the then Prime Minister Ehud Olmert were due.

Ehud Olmert sought a coalition with the inclusion of Jisra'el Beiteinu. Despite the economic near Jisra'el Beiteinu to Kadima became internationally but assumed that the coalition talks would fail. Contrary to the policy pursued by Kadima policy of withdrawal from the West Bank Jisra'el Beiteinu had been strongly opposed to territorial concessions and instead pursuing a policy of settlement. Therefore, the coalition Poker gave the following result: Instead of Jisra'el Beiteinu the religious Shas party was able to move into the government.

In the city of Ashdod voted on 28 March 2006 over 60 % of the electorate for Jisra'el Beiteinu. Ashdod has an above-average share of the vote by Russian-born Jews.

Newer development

Failed merger with Likud

Jisra'el Beiteinu, as well as Netanyahu's Likud were after the election of the 17th Knesset in opposition. Thanks to the joint line of the parties rumors surfaced of a merger between the two groups. The program had three levels are provided: first, the elections should have been preferred to the office of Likud chairman on October 2007. After that, the book of the Likud Party secondly would have been changed so that new candidates outside the Likud would have the opportunity to choose and to be chosen. " So we can people like the former Chief of Staff Moshe Yaalon and President Katzav in the Likud pick " thought representative of the Likud. In the third and last stage Likud and Jisra'el Beiteinu have launched a joint appeal, which would have led at the end of the merger of the two parties. In discussions of the Likud, the new party called an " haLikud Beiteinu ". Likud leader Netanyahu and the chairman of Jisra'el Beteinu, Avigdor Lieberman, in principle, expressed their agreement in respect of a merger between the two parties. All the speculation but are now obsolete because Jisra'el Beiteinu directly into the government moved ( see next section ).

Following now but government involvement

By July 12, 2006 completed Israeli invasion of Lebanon (see Lebanon War 2006) there have been rumors that Avigdor Lieberman should be represented as a hardliner and Chairman of Jisra'el Beiteinu in an emergency government - as well as Benjamin Netanyahu. Both require an even tougher dealing with the Palestinian Arabs.

Meanwhile, the situation has changed since a cease-fire is in force. However, Olmert's majority in the Knesset was extremely thin, which is why he sought contact with Jisra'el Beiteinu and spoke openly with members of the party of government participation. Avigdor Lieberman should thereby obtain a ministerial post. With a clear resolution of the Knesset on October 30, both the parties were sworn in as the ruling party and appointed Avigdor Lieberman as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Strategic Planning; he should employ in this function, among others, the Iranian nuclear program. For Netanyahu, this is a painful defeat, but now he has to put up more and more with the role of opposition leader by the single passage of Jisra'el Beiteinu - he had long speculated that a new government participation would be possible with the merger of the two parties. This is now obsolete.

The parliamentary elections in 2009, immediately after the "Operation Cast Lead ", led to a further strengthening of Lieberman's party the third strongest force and participation in government.

In the 2013 election Jisra'el Beiteinu occurred on a joint list with the Likud Party.
