Yisrael Kessar

Jisra'el Kesar (Hebrew ישראל קיסר; born May 20, 1931 in Sanaa, Yemen) was an Israeli politician and member of the Knesset.

Life

Kesar emigrated from Yemen in 1931 and moved to Palestine in 1933. He served in the Israel Defense Forces as a captain. He studied economics and sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv University.

Policy

From 1984 to 1996 he was from the 11th to the 13th legislative period Knesset. From 1984 to 1991 he was a Member of the Knesset the HaMa'arach from 1991 to 1995 he was a Member of the Knesset the Avodah, from 1992 to 1996, he was Israeli Minister of Transport.
