Yoshiki Tanaka

Yoshiki Tanaka (Japanese田中 芳 树, Yoshiki Tanaka, real name田中 美 树Tanaka Yoshiki, born October 22, 1952 in Hondo, Kumamoto ) is a Japanese writer. Tanaka studied at Gakushuin University Japanese Language and Literature and received his doctorate there later.

His most famous works are the fantasy novel series Arslan Senki, also known as The Heroic Legend of Arslan, the Space Opera series Ginga Densetsu Eiyū, also known as Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and Sōryūden, also known as Sohryuden: Legend of the Dragon Kings. All these series have been adapted into an anime as well implemented as manga.
