You Don't Bring Me Flowers

You Do not Bring Me Flowers is a pop song from 1977 by Neil Diamond. The text was written by Alan and Marilyn Bergman.

The song is about a couple that finds, after years of living together that his life in routine has solidified. Neil Diamond released the song on his 1977 album I'm Glad You're Here With Me Tonight. A year later, Barbra Streisand played a song for her album Songbird. The radio DJ Gary Guthrie of Waky radio in Louisville mixte both versions together.

This virtual duet enjoyed great popularity among the audience, and then Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond determined to have been friends since their school days together to re-record the song and bring out it as a single. This recording was a worldwide hit and was in the United States up to the first place on the Billboard charts. At the Grammy Awards ceremony in 1980 Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond were once up together and contributed the song live in front of an audience of millions.
