Street Style ( Original: You Got Served ) is an American film directed by Chris Stokes in 2004 The movie is about the dance style of hip- hop and the associated duels several dance crews. . The film had a budget of eight million dollars and grossed over 48.6 million U.S. dollars.

Action

David and Elgin are best friends and leaders of their street dance crew in Los Angeles, California, where they compete in street dancing battles against other crews to money and respect. A group of rich kids challenges she and David and Elgin are due to their experience of victory. But a defector from her crew betrays her best steps and thus they lose. Then allowed David Elgin hang because he flirts with his sister, whereupon Elgin alone transported drugs, robbed and severely injured. Then their friendship is shattered.

But Elgin must now replace the drugs. In return, the crew comes together again and takes on The Big Bounce, a dance competition on MTV, in part.

Production and publication

The film was produced in 2004 by Gotta Dance and Ultimate Group Films directed by Chris Stokes, who also wrote the screenplay. For the cut, Earl Watson was in charge and the music by Tyler Bates.

The film was released on 30 January 2004 under the title You Got Served in the U.S. in theaters, distributed by Screen Gems. Columbia TriStar Films drove the film internationally, with exceptions of Switzerland and Argentina. On 2 September 2004, the film was released in theaters. In addition to theatrical releases in other countries of Europe and America, the film in Japan, Hungary, Norway and Argentina has been released on DVD.

Reception

Says Dennis Harvey of the Variety, the dance routines are the biggest attraction of the film. In contrast, the action was very weak and the music unimaginative.
