Yountville AVA

Yountville AVA ( recognized since 19 March 1999) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California and is part of the regional Napa Valley AVA. The vineyards around the town of Yountville, which gave the region its name. The founder of the town, George Calvert Yount, 1836 put on the first Rebgarten the region. The Yountville AVA is one of the cooler wine regions of Napa Valley and allows the vine a long maturation period. Yountville is particularly known for its tannic Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine has a good potential to mature in the bottle.
