Yountville is a city in California, United States. 2010, a third of the population there were 2,933 inhabitants registered, according to 2,916 in 2000. Nearly lives on the grounds of the Veterans Home of California.
Location
Yountville is located at an altitude of 30 meters in Napa County. It is the center of the wine region, Yountville AVA.
History
The city's name comes from George Calvert Yount the pioneer, is said to have established the first winery in the Napa Valley.
Gastronomy
Yountville is also considered a center of gastronomy. The French Laundry restaurant by star chef Thomas Keller is a resident of Yountville. It received three stars in the Michelin Guide. Keller also owns another restaurant in town, Ad Hoc. In Yountville some more restaurants are located, which received Michelin stars.
