Yousif Habash

Yousif Benham Habash ( born June 1, 1951 in Qaraqosh, Iraq) is Syrian Catholic Bishop of the Eparchy of Our Lady of Deliverance of Newark.

Life

Yousif Benham Habash received on 31 August 1975 the Syrian Catholic Archbishop of Mosul, Cyrille Emmanuel Benni, the sacrament of Holy Orders and was incardinated in the clergy of the Syrian Catholic archeparchy Mosul. On 6 November 1995, Habash was incardinated into the clergy of the Eparchy of Our Lady of Deliverance of Newark.

On 12 April 2010 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. the Syrian Catholic Bishop of the Eparchy of Our Lady of Deliverance of Newark. The Syrian Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, Ignatius Joseph III. Younan, donated to him on 11 June of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in the Syrian Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch, Archbishop Jules Mikhael Al- Jamil, the Syro- Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of Aleppo, Antoine Denys Raboula Beylouni, the Syrian Catholic Archbishop of Mosul, Basile Georges Casmoussa, and the Syrian Catholic Archbishop of Baghdad, Athanase Matti Shaba Matoka. The inauguration took place on 31 July 2010.
