Youssef Mohamad

Youssef Wasef "Dodo " Mohamad (Arabic يوسف واصف محمد ) ( born July 1, 1980 in Beirut, Lebanon) is a Lebanese football player.

Career

Association

Mohamad started with the game of football in his home in Safa Beirut SC, with whom he was 2000 Cup finalist. In 2002, the central defender for Premier League rivals Olympic Beirut. On the first day of the season 2010/2011 he was expelled in the 1:3 home defeat of the 1st FC Cologne against 1 FC Kaiserslautern early as the second minute game because of an emergency brake of the field and was at this time the player with the fastest sending-off (red card) in the Bundesliga history. On 20 August 2011, the 1st FC Cologne announced that Mohamad will switch to Al -Ahli in the United Arab Emirates. The FC corresponded to the desire Mohamad, who wanted to live closer to his family in Lebanon. As a replacement for Mohamad in central defense, the Portuguese Henrique Sereno was loaned for one year from FC Porto.

National

For the Lebanese selection Mohamad completed so far 38 games and took part in the Asia Cup in 2000 partly in their own country. He was also from November 2004 to August 2005 captain of his country selection. After fierce criticism of his federation (Fédération Libanaise de Football Association ) and at its national coach Adnan Meckdache he was suspended by the Lebanese Association. He may not return again if he apologizes to the association and the coach for his critical attitude, which Mohamad but refused because he saw himself in the right.

However, he was appointed in late 2012 for the internationals against Australia, Yemen, Qatar and Iran from German coach Theo Bücker.
