Yukio Peter

Yukio Peter ( born January 29, 1984 in Aiwo ) is a nauruischer weightlifter.

He won the title in the category up to 69 kg at the Junior Ozeanienmeisterschaften 2004 in Niue.

Peter was one of the three Nauruan participants in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and also flag bearer at the opening ceremony. In weightlifting category to 69 kg Peter in 8th place, with which he won an Olympic diploma. A muscle cramp prevented doing a better classification.

At the 2005 World Championships in Doha Yukio Peter succeeded in tearing the category up to 77 kg sensational silver medal. In Olympic duel he finished 4th. In 2010 he won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.
