Yulia Merkulova

Julija Viktorovna Merkulowa (Russian Юлия Викторовна Меркулова, English transcription: Yulia Viktorovna Merkulova; born 17 February 1984 in Lipetsk ) is a Russian volleyball player. She participated in two Olympic Games and was twice world champion.

Career

Merkulowa began her career in 1999 in her hometown club. After a year she went to VK Saretschje Odintsovo. With Odintsovo she won from 2002 to 2004 three times in a row, the Russian Cup. In 2005 she made ​​her debut in the Russian national team, with which she reached the third place at the European Championship. In 2006, she came into the league as well as to second place with Russia in the Grand Prix. Then she became world champion in Japan. 2007 won her club back in the cup.
