Yumurtalık

Yumurtalık is a seaside resort in southern Turkey and capital of the district of the province of Adana. Yumurtalık is located about 80 km from the Gulf of İskenderun of the city of Adana. The population of the city is 5,046 and that of the county 18,266 (as of 2011 ). These increases in the summer months by tourists up to 40,000.

Yumurtalık wore in the Ottoman period the name Ayas.

Attractions

In ancient times, was on the site of the present Yumurtalık the place Aigeai, in the Middle Ages the name was Ayas. Of these, a lake and get a castle and a country about one kilometer west of the seaside lying tower.

About 20 kilometers northeast of the Kurtkulağı Kervansaray is located in the same place.
