Yuri Pavlovich Gidzenko (Russian Юрий Павлович Гидзенко, scientific transliteration Yuri Pavlovich Gidzenko; born March 26, 1962 in Jelanez, Mykolaiv Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, USSR ) is a former colonel in the Russian Air Force and Russian astronauts. He is married and has two sons.

Gidzenko attended the Higher Military Aviation School "Sergei Gretsewets ", which he completed in 1983 in Kharkov (Ukraine). The next four years he served in the Russian air force pilot in the Odessa region.

In March 1987 Gidzenko was selected as a cosmonaut candidate and joined the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center basic training, which he successfully completed in the summer of 1989. There followed a training course to test cosmonaut. From the Moscow State University in 1994, he earned a degree in geodesy and cartography.
