Yuri Khmylev

Yuri Alekseyevich Chmyljow (Russian Юрий Алексеевич Хмылёв; born August 9, 1964 in Moscow, Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player.

Career

Chmyljow played from 1981 to 1992 Krylia Sovetov Moscow for. NHL Entry Draft 1992, he was selected in the fifth round at 108th place of the Buffalo Sabres. Therefore, he ventured after the collapse of the Soviet Union made ​​it into the National Hockey League. In all, he scored 163 goals in 456 games in the Soviet league.

On April 21, 1981, he was in a game against Czechoslovakia for the first time for the Sbornaja on the ice. On December 8, 1990 he played his last match for the USSR. The Ice Hockey World Championships, he was three times world champion with his team ( 1981, 1986, 1989). His international career was crowned with the gold medal at the Olympic Winter Games in 1992. He was inducted into the "Russian Hockey Hall of Fame " in 1992.

During his career in the NHL he played for the Buffalo Sabres ( 1992-1996 ) and St. Louis Blues (1995 to 1997).
