Yves du Manoir

Yves Frantz Loys Marie Le Pelley du Manoir ( born August 11, 1904 in Vaucresson; † January 2, 1928 in Reuilly ( Indre ) ) was a French rugby union player.

Du Manoir, who was of noble birth, graduated from the Lycée Sainte -Geneviève in Versailles and then from 1924 the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. There he acquired in 1925 the degree of sub- lieutenant of the air force. The talented rugby players played for the prestigious Racing Club de France, usually on the position of the connecting Halbs.

On January 1, 1925, he came in Colombes for the first time for the French national team for use in a Five Nations game against Ireland. Although the French lost 3:9, Yves du Manoir was voted the best player of the day. Until 1927, he played seven matches, one of them as captain.
