Yves Makabu - Makalambay ( born January 31, 1986 in Brussels), shortened Yves Ma - Kalambay, is a Congolese football player who has Belgian citizenship. He is now the Belgian Erstdivisionär KV Mechelen under contract and is active in the Congolese national team.

Career

In the club

Makabu - Makalambay is the son of a married couple from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Between 2002 and 2003 he played for PSV Eindhoven, but arrived just as with his next stop, Chelsea and Watford, which he joined on loan, never used. In 2007 Makabu - Makalambay moved finally to Hibernian. In his debut for the club against Heart of Midlothian he did not concede and was on time for the Hibs goalkeeper. After three years in Scotland, he moved in summer 2010 to Swansea City in the Football League Championship. There he was, however, only in four cup games for use and therefore moved to his native Belgium, where he joined the KV Mechelen.

In the National Team

Makabu - Makalambay went through various youth national teams. In 2008 he was appointed to the Belgian football team for the Beijing Olympics, but was only used once, when he came in to replace Logan Bailly in the quarter- final against Italy. Later, he decided, however, for the Congolese national aground.
