ZÄ…browo, Åšwidwin County

Ząbrowo ( German Semerow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the Gmina Świdwin (Town Schivelbein ) in the powiat Świdwiński.

Geographical Location

The former estate village Ząbrowo located 14 kilometers northwest of Świdwin. It is bordered to the north by the district Międzyrzecze ( Meseritz ) of Gmina Slawoborze ( Stolzenberg ) and to the west by the Mołstowa ( Molstow ), which here marked the beginning of the circle Łobez ( Labes ). Ząbrowo can be reached by a road connection from Świdwin about Lekowo ( Leckow ) and Kartlewo ( Kartlow ).

History

In 1499 the brothers Rüchel afford Semerow Elector Joachim fealty. 1820 were six farmers located here. 1825 Emanuel Schmidt was lord of the manor in Semerow. 1843, there were 130 people. In 1887 started the construction of the road to Schivelbein.

Until 1832 Semerow belonged to the circle Schivelbein until this in the county Belgard ( Persante ) was incorporated. Semerow was the official and the civil registry district Schlenzig assigned ( Słowieńsko ) and was in the District Court area Schivelbein.

In 1920, Squire Neumann, who set up a private passenger of Semerow after Schivelbein, who also by the inhabitants of Berkenow (Polish today: Berkanowo ) Kartlow ( Kartlewo ) and Leckow ( Lekowo ) could be used. The first used, provided with a tarpaulin lorry was later replaced by a bus.

In the year 1939 309 inhabitants were counted in 73 households in Semerow. The municipal area is 820 hectares, of which 581 hectares accounted for the manor. Since 1919, Major was A.D. Kurt Neumann its owner who successfully managed it until 1945. The estate belonged to a starch factory as well as a light and power plant.

The majority of the inhabitants Semerow worked in agriculture. Trade and crafts were represented by two blacksmiths, a carpentry shop, a wheelwright and a shoemaker, two grocery stores, and a restaurant. Last German mayor before 1945 was Otto plow.

In the first days of March 1945, the village was occupied by the Soviet Army and the German population was expelled. Semerow came into Polish hands and is now incorporated as Ząbrowo a part of the gmina and powiat Świdwin Świdwiński.

Parish

The parish Semerow consisted of the three parishes Semerow, Berkenow ( Berkanowo ) and Kartlow ( Kartlewo ). To the parish also was Meseritz ( Międzyrzecze ).

The parish belonged to the church district Schivelbein the church of the Evangelical Church of Pomerania Old Prussian Union. It was one of 1940 a total of 830 church members, of which 458 belonged to the parish Semerow.

The church records only began in 1762, as all official documents fell victim to the Seven Years War.

Today Ząbrowo is part of the parish Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.

Parish Church

The Semerower church is a rectangular half-timbered oak and was built in 1744. On the west side there is a verbretterter tower, which goes from a square base in an octagon. He wears a shingle -roofed pointed roof.
