Zagorje ob Savi

Zagorje ob Savi ( German Seger at the Sau ) is a city and a municipality in central Slovenia

Location and population

In the overall community consisting of 73 villages and hamlets 17,229 people live. The main town of Zagorje ob Savi alone has 6,893 inhabitants and is located at 269 m in the valley of the Sava, east of Ljubljana. Together with Trbovlje and Hrastnik with which it is closely linked, it forms the Zasavska region. In this region, lignite is mined.
