Zanussi

Zanussi is an Italian manufacturer of electric household appliances. Since 1984 Zanussi part of Sweden's Electrolux Group and is used by him as a brand for the lower price segment of the Group.

History

Since 1858, the company can be traced back as a manufacturer of terracotta stoves under the brand " Becchi ". In the late 1920s, wash troughs and press were added.

1945 Zanussi still employed 18 employees and dealt with the construction of wood and coal stoves and ovens. Died in 1946, the old owner of the family business and his son Lino, who had to leave early age of 17, the school, took over the company as Managing Director. Just five years later Zanussi also produced Butangasöfen. 1954 was added in the production of refrigerators in order to occupy the factory in the summer months.

The next step, the production of washing machines, though was obvious from today's perspective, the company introduced but almost to the brink of ruin. In the second half of the 1960s Zanussi began with the production of semi-automatic washing machines with double drums anmuteten already outdated because of their appearance when they came on the market. With its headquarters in Pordenone, near Venice additional production sites originated in Italy, where 500,000 refrigerators, 230,000 washing machines, stoves, 250,000 and 50,000 televisions were produced annually.

Zanussi created a largely integrated production chain, which also manufacture tools, such as electric welding of the refrigerator cabinet were self- constructed. Many components, including the plastic parts, forging products, electric motors and transformers came from own production.
