Zawady-Tworki

Zawady - Tworki (German Sawadden, 1938-1945 Border Guard ) is a scoring for community Prostki village in the northeastern Mazury in Polish Warmia - Masuria, Elk County.

Geography

The village is situated ( as the crow flies ) 19 km east of the county town of Elk and 10 kilometers northeast of the town Prostki, whose eponymous municipality it belongs.

Zawady - Tworki located on the western shore of Jezioro Rajgrodzkie ( Raygrod Lake ).

History

The Masurian village name Sawadden came several times before in the former East Prussia. It probably derives from the Slavic word ' Zawada ' for " (difficult to be overcome ) obstacle " from.

Sawadden founded in the 16th century as a settlement in the island at that time a heavily wooded area, which was cleared from there gradually. The first settlers came mainly from the nearby Mazovia.

On May 27, 1874 came in the wake of a Prussian administrative reform a District Sawadden, which included next to the Gutsbezirk Sawadden rural communities Brodowen, Buczylowen, Cziessen, Czyntschen, Jebramken, Small Lasken, Krzywen, Kutzen, Ossarken, Statzen and Sypittken. Sawadden was the seat of the commune, which was from 1874 to 1880 a landowner called Arens.

On June 30, 1906, was a further local government reform in which it was renamed the previous Amtsbezirks Sawadden in District Sypittken. The Gutsbezirk Sawadden was spun here and assigned to the neighboring District Wischniewen. This included the now rural communities Dlugossen, Dombrowsken, Giesen, Kallenczynnen, rules, Wischniewen, Zielasken and the estate districts Katrin Owen, Kossewen, Elk, Domänenamt and Sawadden.

On December 1, 1910 110 inhabitants were recorded in Sawadden.

By a branch nearest small Lasken 1913 Sawadden was (as the terminus ) connected to the Elk Kleinbahnen in October, bringing a (now disused ) was direct rail link to the city of Elk.

Sawadden was renamed operated as part of the German Confederation by the Association Eastern massive Eindeutschung Masurian place names Baltic or Slavic origin in Border Patrol on 16 July 1938.
