Zębowo, Pomeranian Voivodeship

Zebowo ( German: Symbow ) is heard in the powiat Słupski the Pomeranian Voivodeship, a Polish place of the rural community Kobylnica ( Kublitz ). It is situated about twelve kilometers west of Slupsk ( Stolp ) and has about 140 inhabitants.

History

Symbow (also: Simbow and Ziębowo ) was a little Pomeranian estate village ( family von Below ), the last for the rural community Reddentin (now Redęcin ) was in Schlawe. His name could be derived from the personal name Zab or Zięba.

In 1910, 145 people lived in Symbow. Although all villages surrounding the city were numerically greater, was Symbow central Kirchdorf. The Symbower church is now regarded as a landmark in the Gmina Kobylnica in powiat Słupski to which the place is now.

The parish Symbow belonged until 1814 to the church district Rügenwalde ( Darłowo ) and was then assigned to the first church Stolp county -level city in the province of Pomerania church of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union. Village Church

It is unclear when the Symbower Church was organized. It is believed she was going back to the Cistercians, who lived in the monastery Buckow 1260-1535.

Now is the 1535-1945 Protestant parish church, the Catholic branch church Mary Help of believers ( kościół Matki Boskiej Wspomożycielki Wiernych ). The patronage galleries right and left were eliminated. The pulpit above the altar was removed. The organ found a new place on the west gallery.
