Żelazowa Wola

Żelazowa Wola is a village in the municipality Sochaczew, Masovian Voivodeship, Poland, with a population of 65. The first mention of the village dates from the second half of the 16th century.

Żelazowa Wola became known as the birthplace of the composer Frédéric Chopin. 1894 here Chopin monument was inaugurated in the presence of Mili Alexeyevich Balakirev, Russian composer. In July 1969 was 14 years reveals the Frederic Chopin monument of Józef Gosławski after his creation. It stands in the park, adjacent to Chopin's birthplace. In the house there is now a museum.

In Żelazowa Wola also the violinist Henryk Szeryng was born.
