Zenn Valley Railway

The Zenngrundbahn is a branch line in the regional transport system Nuremberg to Erlbach and branches in Siegelsdorf of the railway line Nuremberg -Würzburg. It is not electrified single track with a section meeting in Wilhermsdorf station and. Trains from and to Fürth Hauptbahnhof or Nuremberg Central Station. Planning and construction

Construction began in January 1902 and the technical inspection could take place on November 29, 1902. The line was opened on 5 December 1902.

Operation

Former breakpoints

Steam locomotive operating

Transport Association

With the introduction of the winter timetable 1987 Zenngrundbahn has been fully integrated in the common tariff of the transport association Greater Nuremberg and carries the line number R12.

Regionalization of rail transport

In connection with the regionalization of rail transport, the BayernTakt was introduced on the Zenngrundbahn. This meant expanding supply, an hourly service from Monday to Friday and a two- hourly service on weekends. In September 1997, a new breakpoint at Wilhermsdorfer Castle Course was opened in 1998 as Wilhermsdorf center.

The operating times of the " rail bus " were reduced to a pair of journey in the early morning between Erlbach and Siegelsdorf and two drive pairs between Fürth and Erlbach in late traffic.
