Due to its location in central Europe Erlbach is in the temperate warm climate. Here, the town is located in the transition zone between the wet Atlantic and the dry continental climate.

History

In a wooded area, on the hill of the natural park of Franconia, is Erlbach. The name comes from Erlenbach, whose source is located within the district.

" Woodland - King Country ," as it was called at the time of Charlemagne. Discovered barrows to Erlbach point to a much earlier settlement. An early church foundation from which proceeded many affiliated churches, and the location on the military road between the imperial cities of Nuremberg and Bad Windsheim Rothenburg ob der Tauber Erlbach led by a checkered history, but were also a prerequisite for the development of a focus for trade, commerce and jurisdiction.
