History
The village was first mentioned on December 25, 822 in a deed of the Emperor Louis the Pious.
Incorporations
At the municipal reform in Bavaria, the until then independent municipality Ermetzhofen was incorporated as on 1 January 1974. This had taken the places Neuherberg and lakes home on 1 January 1972.

Sports
The sports club Ergersheim offers by various divisions sporting facilities at. Sometimes 328 members (as of 2007) will be conducted, which engage in table tennis, aerobics and football department.
Economy and infrastructure
Ergersheim is a Franconian wine town, which lies on the Middle Franconian Bock bag Road. On " Ergersheimer Altenberg ", the following varieties are in an area of about 15 ha cultivated: Müller -Thurgau, Silvaner, Bacchus, Blue Sylvaner, Rieslaner and Ortega as white grape varieties and Domina, Pinot Noir, Pinot Madeleine, thorn fields and Cabernet Dorsa than red varieties. Every year in June at 3.Wochenende a beautiful street wine festival in the middle of town instead.
