Geographical Location
The community is located halfway between Würzburg and Ansbach.

The municipality Oberickelsheim has three officially named districts:
- Geißlingen
- Oberickelsheim
- Rodheim

Neighboring municipalities are (from north clockwise beginning ): Market Wide, Martin Home, Gollhofen, Hemmersheim and Ochsenfurt.
History
Incorporations
On January 1, 1972, until then independent municipality Geißlingen was incorporated. On January 1, 1976, added Rodheim.
