Simmershofen
Simmershofen is a municipality in the district of Neustadt adAisch -Bad Windsheim, Middle Franconia. She is a member of the administrative community Uffenheim.

Geography
Geographical Location
The municipality extends from the relatively flat plateau between the right Tauber inflows Gollach in the north and in the south to Steinach Steinach little beyond. The district drained mainly north to Gollach over the mill stream which passes through the eponymous capital, and southwest over the Wallmersbach, which flows into the Steinachtal in the village Equarhofen.
The northern municipality is located, with the exception of small forest islands in an open hallway and is mainly used for agricultural purposes. In the southern municipality both sides of the Steinach there is something larger forest areas.

Neighboring communities
History
The Simmershofen region belongs to the place name on - hofen in an early medieval phase of the country's development. Archaeological finds prove but a much earlier settlement. From Walkershofen are numerous finds of the Neolithic period, which is an important witness to the early farmers in Tauberlandpark. In Equarhofen is a large cemetery of the Hallstatt period. This individual metal fittings were found, which may belong to the early Middle Ages.
The name of the noble family of Hohenlohe comes from the part of town Hohlach in which they temporarily had their family seat Hohlach.
Incorporations
On 1 July 1971, until then independent municipality Walkershofen was incorporated. On July 1, 1972 Adelhofen, Auernhofen, Equarhofen and Hohlach were added.
