Zero Hour (Band)

Zero Hour is an American progressive metal band from Pleasanton, California, which was founded in 1993.

History

The band was founded in 1993 by twin brothers Jasun Tipton ( guitar ) and Troy Tipton ( bass). A short time later, drummer Mike Guy to fill. Together they recorded in 1994 to a first, self-titled demo. In 1995, singer Frank Mendez and keyboardist Mike Conner to fill. Mendez left towards the end of the year but again the band and was replaced by Erik Rosvold. Conner became ill in 1997 at the carpal tunnel syndrome, so he had to leave the band. He was replaced by Matt Guillory and Phil Bennett. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1998 self-released and had a circulation of 2,000 copies. The second album The Towers of Avarice appeared in 2001 via Sensory Records. The album received reviews in various magazines such as the Dutch Aardschok, the Hungarian Metal Hammer and the German and French Rock Hard.

Following the publication of a tour of Europe and two appearances followed on the ProgPower USA in Atlanta. As a new vocalist Chris Salinas now was there in the band. In 2006 published the new cast album Specs of Pictures Burnt Beyond. In the years 2006 and 2007, followed by other appearances in the U.S., including again the ProgPower USA and was the opening band for Queensrÿche. In addition, for the first time found appearances take place in Iceland. In 2008, the band released as album Dark Deceiver, which was produced by Dino Alden.

Style

The band plays classic progressive metal, which has a very complex and varied character.
