Zeytinburnuspor

Zeytinburnuspor is a Turkish sports club based in the heart of Istanbul's Zeytinburnu. The matches will be played in the stadium Zeytinburnu, where 16,000 spectators. History

Foundation

Zeytinburnuspor was founded in 1953 in the then Istanbul suburb of Zeytinburnu through the efforts of Notables Kemal Alev, Şinasi Çevik and Ali Altan Erinsel as non-registered sports club and chatted with football, volleyball, track and wrestling at the same time entertained several departments. As an Istanbul suburb of Zeytinburnu had many unused plots of land that were used for the Sporting upgrading the local population as a sports or soccer fields.

As a non- registered association we used a small office opposite the local railway station and a club house temporarily the Kirazlı Aile Çay bahçesi ( a local tea house ). Zeytinburnu district of Istanbul in 1957 was a result of which the cityscape changed, thereby also manage the club professional. So Zeytinburnuspor merged with Mithatpaşaspor Kulübü to Zeytinburnu Spor Kulübü, short Zeytinbunurspor, and was a registered sports club. As the first president İlhami Dernekbaşı was appointed.

Entry into professional football

After the summer of 1980, the Turkish professional football had been reduced from three to only two professional leagues, 1984, on directive of the then President, the third highest professionole Soccer League, the third Lig, with its present name TFF Lig 2, reintroduced. In addition, it was announced that one could apply for a league participation after meeting certain requirements and conditions. In order to advance the city's development, several Stadtnotabeln, led by the then Mayor Dr. Muzaffer Cavusoglu tried, therefore, to meet the requirements. Thus, an area of ​​arable land, which belonged to the local Armenian Foundation and donated by her, temporarily transformed into a football stadium. Muzaffer Cavusoglu was appointed club president and vice-president Hasan Bostanci. After allowing the conditions fulfilled, the Turkish Football Federation confirmed participation. So took Zeytinburnuspor in the season 1984/85 of the reintroduction of third Lig part and finished the season end the eighth place in the table of group 2
