Zhongyang County

Zhongyang (中 阳县) is a district of the prefecture-level city in the Chinese province of Shanxi Lüliang. Zhongyang is located about 17 km south-southeast of Lishi, the city center Lüliangs, and about 140 km west-southwest of Taiyuan, the provincial capital of Shanxi.

The county has an area of ​​1441 km ² and around 140,000 inhabitants ( end of 2006) with an upward trend, which was caused by the favorable development of basic industries and their expansion. Center and the seat of county government is the greater community Ningxing which lies in a valley along a small river. The slightly mountainous environment is one of the coal mining areas of Shanxi province. The greater community is of the coal mine and steel plant (Pinyin: Zhonggang ,中 钢) dominates.

Zhongyang is easily accessible by highway from Lishi and through external roads.
