Zhou Xiaochuan

Zhou Xiaochuan (Chinese周小川, Pinyin Zhou Xiǎochuān; * 1948 ) is a Chinese economist and banker. Since December 2002 he has been Governor of the Chinese People's Bank. In December 2010, he was elected by the American Foreign Policy magazine ranked 4th of the 100 most influential thinkers of the year. In the annually published list of the most powerful people in the world by Forbes Magazine in 2011, he was ranked at No. 14

Life and education

Zhou graduated in 1975 graduated from the University of Chemical Engineering Beijing from. In 1985 he received his doctoral degree at Tsinghua University.

Profession

From 1986 to 1989, Zhou Assistant Minister in the Chinese Ministry of Economy. From September 1991 to September 1995 working Zhou as Vice President in the Bank of China.
