Zimba, Zambia

Zimba is a town with about 1,000 inhabitants ( 2006 estimate ) in the Southern Province of Zambia, 72 km north of Livingstone on the asphalt road and the railway line to Lusaka. It is located 1,226 meters above sea level.

In Zimba is a nickel deposits to be mined in the coming years.

Zimba is especially interesting as a crossing. Until Kalomo, the district capital, is 45 kilometers. The road from Zimba after Monze was renewed. In Zimba Mission has a hospital and a primary school. Zimba is an important market town for the surrounding villages.
